I have a PhD degree in History, (Central European University, Budapest) and an M.A. degree in American Studies and in Political Science (Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest). In the past I taught History and EU Studies in this school, this semester I've started working as an external lecturer at ELTE, Deptartment of American Studies. At BME International Secondary School I teach English Communication in the 9th and 10th grades. As for teaching, I try to put emphasis on the concepts of play, autonomy and self-motivation. In other words, I believe it is best if students are self-starters and highly independent in the learning process. This can perhaps best be achieved if there is necessary internal motivation, which in turn comes through the act of play. The school, ideally, is a place where one has the freedom to express the full scope of their personality. Where the distinction between work and play becomes blurred, where both students and teachers can find enjoyment in their efforts and this propels a rich, and to a certain extent, subconscious learning process.
